HYDRANGEAS
Hydrangeas are Cape Town’s iconic Christmas flowers they are bold, beautiful & unbeatable when it comes to Festive colour. It only seemed fitting for us to make them our flower of the month.
We have a wide variety in stock, with beautiful shades of colours like white, pinks, blues, & even rich reds.

Lacetops
- Flat flower with tiny buds in the centre & a ring of larger petals around
- More delicate & dainty in appearance
HYDRANGEAS
Growing Tips:
- They can tolerate gentle early morning sun, but they are happiest in the shade.
- Keep soil moist but NOT soggy, mulch helps keep roots cool.
- Feed with a flowering fertiliser during the growing season.
- Protect from harsh midday sun and strong winds to keep the flowers perfect.
- Deadheading spent flowers encourages new growth.
Fun Facts:
- They are natural mood rings, their colour changes depending on the soil pH.
- Hydrangeas are ancient, they’ve existed for more than 40 million years!
- Each Hydrangea head isn’t one flower, it’s a cluster of dozens of tiny flowers.
- In Japan, Hydrangeas symbolise gratitude, making them a perfect ‘thank you’ gift.
- They drink a LOT of water, the name ‘Hydrangea’ comes from the Greek words ‘water vessel’.
- Some Victorian gardeners believed Hydrangeas brought good luck when planted near the front door.
